For various reasons I want to buy a new car in my hometown (Salem, OR). However, there is a problem of sales tax. The Nevada DMV will charge me Nevada sales tax minus whatever sales tax was paid at the time of the sale (i.e. 0). So that will leave me with ~$1500 due at registration. If I bought the car in Nevada this wouldn't be an issue as the tax would be included in the final price and rolled into the financing.

I'm wondering if anyone has done something like this before, and if there are any options for me? I'm not trying to avoid paying the sales tax, I just don't want to have to come up with it within 20 days of buying the car. Any suggestions?

Please help.

I didn't find the right solution from the internet.

Thank you.
